This Studio In Hennur Is All About Bespoke Furniture That’s Sustainable And Eco Friendly

Dream of a home done up with one-of-a-kind furniture? Dial up the folks at Design Circle. They’ll customise pieces for you that are sustainable and are minimalistically gorgeous in design.

Touch Wood!

Started off by designers {they are also a couple} – Muralidhar Reddy and Ritu Sonalika – Design Circle is a production studio. Reddy and Sonalika, who have experience in architectural and industrial design, lead a team that crafts furniture on a made-to-order basis. They specialise in minimalist designs and subtle design quirks that add plenty of suave to a piece.

You can go to them with a requirement or if you like something on their FB page and their site. On their FB page, we spotted plenty of stuff that we’d like in our homes and office. Elegant stools with curved seats, rustic trays and bowls for serving, and chests of drawers that will add a touch of warmth to your bedroom. Work tables with interesting details and conference tables too are part of their repertoire.  We love that they make such elegant and functional furniture without over designing it. Perfect for a 21st century home or office!

Once you’ve told them exactly what you want, they’ll put on their designing caps on and present you with a sketch or two. When you’ve given them the go ahead, they make the piece and deliver it between 30 and 45 days. While they do deliver, you will have to pay for transportation and also any applicable taxes.

Studio Sustainable

Design Circle focuses entirely on natural materials and solid wood. They also work heavily with reclaimed,  recycled, and repurposed furniture making them one of the few studios around that’s committed to sustainability. However, do note, that they only take on orders that can be made at their studio. So, tables, chairs, dining sets, and cots can be taken on but they are not the people to go to if you want, say, a wardrobe installed.

While their price largely depends on the kind of product and design you are looking at, their coffee tables {which is one of the basic furniture items} are sold at 10k and upwards. They also take on upcycling of your furniture on a case by case basis. They mostly do tables because those are the easiest to upcycle.
